Johannes Gutenberg
Born in Mainz, Gutenberg was an inventor and craftsman, best known for the introduction of letterpress printing in Europe with his movable-type printing press. ​
His presence won't be forgotten in Mainz with his name being used to mark several events and locations across the city: Gutenberg Museum, Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz & Mainzer Johannesnacht (a 4-day festival in June celebrating the inventor).
